In a significant move towards sustainable fashion, Fashion Revolution Brazil (FRB) is set to unveil a new publication titled "Cânhamo é Revolução" ("Hemp is Revolution") at the upcoming FebraTêxtil 2025 trade show in São Paulo. This initiative aims to highlight hemp's potential as an eco-friendly alternative in Brazil's textile sector.
Hemp is gaining attention globally for its environmental benefits. It requires less water and fewer pesticides than traditional crops like cotton, making it a more sustainable choice for fabric production. Additionally, hemp fibers are durable, biodegradable, and naturally resistant to mold and ultraviolet light, offering a viable solution for eco-conscious consumers and manufacturers.
Brazil's rapid expansion in cotton farming has raised environmental concerns, particularly regarding deforestation in the Cerrado region.
