Makes approx. 20 Truffles

📌 Ingredients

  • ½ cup coconut oil
  • ¼ tsp sea salt
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 6 ½ tsp cold water

Topping:

  • Handful of ground hazelnuts
  • Hulled hemp seeds (from Margaret River Hemp Co., of course!)

📌 Directions

  • Gently melt coconut oil in a pot over low heat. Transfer to a bowl.
  • Add salt and maple syrup to the melted coconut oil. Whisk until evenly combined.
  • Gradually add cocoa powder, whisking continuously until smooth and well incorporated.
  • While whisking, slowly pour in the cold water until the mixture is well combined.
  • Cover the bowl with a tea towel and place in the freezer for approximately 30 minutes, or until the mixture solidifies.
  • Once set, use a spoon to scoop out small portions of the mixture and roll them into balls using your hands.
  • Roll each truffle in a mixture of ground hazelnuts and hemp seeds, coating them evenly.
  • Place the truffles on a plate or tray lined with parchment paper and return to the freezer for another 15-20 minutes to firm up.
  • Once firm, these delectable treats are ready to be savoured! Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 2 weeks.

Tip: For an extra touch of indulgence, drizzle melted dark chocolate over the truffles before coating them in nuts and seeds.
