Margaret River Hemp Co. is proud to highlight the achievements of Monica Tova Plazas, an inspiring student at TAFE WA, whose sustainable fashion creation was featured at the prestigious Ethical Fashion Week Australia (EFWA) exhibition in Florence, Italy.
Monica's innovative garment, the Evolve Modular Dress, is crafted from sustainable hemp fabrics sourced directly from Margaret River Hemp Co. The dress represents a significant step toward sustainable fashion, blending 55% hemp and 45% organic cotton twill to ensure complete biodegradability and minimal environmental impact.
The Evolve dress uniquely incorporates modular design, featuring invisible magnetic closures that allow wearers to effortlessly transform its silhouette by adding or removing sleeves and skirt segments. This adaptability not only enhances versatility for various occasions but also encourages long-term use, promoting a circular economy within fashion.
Expressing her gratitude, Monica said, "I am immensely grateful for the amazing fabrics provided by Margaret River Hemp Co., which have enabled me to launch this project. This dress marks the beginning of my final collection for my graduation at TAFE next December and hopefully the start of my sustainable fashion brand."
Monica's project is a testament to the growing movement of sustainable fashion designers in Australia, demonstrating creativity, innovation, and a deep commitment to environmental stewardship.
Margaret River Hemp Co. congratulates Monica on her remarkable achievement and is proud to support emerging designers who are paving the way for a sustainable and responsible fashion future.
