Your Skin Is Trying to Breathe. Let It.

When we think of wellness, we think of smoothies, steps, stretching, and mindfulness. We invest in clean eating, filtered water, and maybe even meditation apps — all in the name of health. But what if one of the most overlooked parts of our wellness routine is something we put on before we even start to move?

Let’s talk about what your skin is wearing to the gym.

The Truth About Traditional Activewear

Mainstream activewear is almost entirely made from synthetic fabrics like polyester, nylon, and spandex. These materials are derived from petrochemicals — yes, the same base ingredients used to make plastic bottles and food wrappers.

During exercise, our bodies heat up. Our pores open. We sweat. And what’s right against all that open, active skin? Plastic.

While synthetic activewear might be marketed as “breathable” or “moisture-wicking,” the reality is far less appealing: - These materials can trap heat and bacteria against the skin - They’re often finished with harsh chemical treatments - They shed microplastics every time you wash (and sometimes, just by wearing)

This creates a toxic combo of heat, sweat and synthetic fibres — not exactly a wellness win.

Hemp: A Natural Fit for Your Skin

Hemp is one of nature’s most skin-friendly fibres. It’s breathable, naturally anti-bacterial, odour-resistant, and regulates temperature — all without needing synthetic enhancements.

Unlike synthetics, hemp doesn’t suffocate your skin. It lets your body do what it’s meant to do: move, breathe, recover.

Even better? - Hemp is hypoallergenic - It gets softer with every wash - It’s better for sensitive skin and doesn’t trap odour

Whether you’re on the mat, the trail, or just out and about — hemp moves with you and supports your skin, naturally.
